Biography

Maketoire was born in Keene, New Hampshire in 1990 and moved to Holland at an early age. He lived in a small village near The Hague when he discovered that electronic music was his love and passion and started spinning records in his room. Within a few years and while he was still a minor, he started playing at clubs in and around The Hague and Leiden. Making long sessions behind the deck he gave his audience a diverse sound of house and techno.  At the age of 17 Maketoire decided to move to, and go study in, Amsterdam.

There he became familiar with the Amsterdam party scene. Visiting clubs like Club 11, Studio 80, Melkweg and Paradiso. After attending a performance by his idols, Raresh and Ricardo, in Club 11,  Maketoire’s world was  made up his mind and knew that their style was what he wanted to do. Nowadays, when he’s not in his room practicing his technique, he travels the globe, following his idols.

The combination of constant practice and inspiration proves ample fertilizer for young Maketoire’s talent, causing him to develop rapidly. He can be considered as a renaissance artist in his own way, getting his muse from the classical fathers of groove techno and striving to use their style to create a new sound. Translatio, imitatio and aemulatio: history repeats itself.

As he is the youngest Dj with the Carnivale Agency, Maketoire is determined to show the Amsterdam underground scene what he’s got and  his dream, to be a well-respected DJ before the end of 2011, is well within reach. Being the Benjamin is not always easy, but what he lacks in experience, he more than makes up for in flair and taste.
