I think you’re right that this shows that some people indeed do not perceive birthdays to be that special… But it’s hard to say if this is a by-product of social media. Totally agree with the last part: human beings can be very very lazy… Forgetting about a birthday does not say a lot about a friendship, but more about someone’s state of mind

I think you are also proving a point that birthdays are not that special anymore to some people… Back in the days when we al were using Hyves i also posted a false D.O.B. In those days almost none of my friends congratulated me thru social media but just by saying, texting or calling me in person.

I think it’s becoming a way of live, but we do need to realize that without FB or some kind most of us would forget bday’s anyhow.

It doesn’t make them a better or less better of a friend though:-)
