Sequentia, on the other hand, heads more into the deep without losing its dictating drive. Remixes are delivered by Specker and Bigi & Laurentiu. Carnivale is back with a new sampler containing fresh sounds of young Amsterdam talent. After 3 successful EP’s delivered by well-respected artists, Carnivale is more than proud to present various hot new kids on the 020 block to a larger audience. The EP is very groove oriented and contains numerous dance floor fillers and killers. Please rise up for Ferro, Prunk, Jop & Jordi, L’Atelier, Levi Verspeek & Elkan Frank, and Pieter Bote. Judging by the sound of this, it’s hard to imagine we won’t be hearing more from these lads in the nearby future.

Carnivale Music is bringing back the ‘good old’ warm house feeling to the dance floor. Andreas Bergmann delivers 3 top-notch tracks on the third release of the Amsterdam-based Carnivale imprint. Marko Nastic and Rik Woldring & Malbetrieb are responsible for the remixes on this EP.

With Mr Fret and The Shephard Andreas clearly heads into the deeper spectrum of house. Andreas paces up a bit with Ms Fog, which is the more groove-oriented track on this release. Marko Nastic shows once again that he is a master of many traits. His remix of The Shephard complements the original with various dub elements. Rik Woldring & Malbetrieb take a different path. Their Bergmann interpretation is mystique and warm, making it a perfect track to spice things up.

The second release of Carnivale Music “That’s The Way” arrives with atmospheric dance floor grooves from Koen Lebens. Remixes are delivered by Mulder and Romania’s rising star Mihai Popoviciu.

Koen Lebens is in charge of this 4 track EP. With That’s The Way Koen chooses for a subtle tech approach and hands over a track that tampers both the ears and feet. Mihai Popoviciu dissects this track perfectly and adds his famous recipe to it, making That’s The Way totally Mihai proof. Koen goes housier on Grooveside and shows how versatile his production skills have become. Fellow Dutch youngster Mulder gives his own interpretation of what Grooveside means and supplies a cheeky vocal that makes the EP complete.

The debut release of Carnivale Music shows how healthy the scene currently is in Amsterdam. While Carnivale has been steadily rocking Amsterdam’s nightlife for nearly three years now, it became time for the wandering band of entertainers to take it a step further. Two dance floor bombs are the result of this ambitious plan and have been delivered by no one less than Serbian all-round hero Marko Nastic.

“House Traitor” is a classic house composition, in which the groove flows gently from the interaction between the deep bass and clap. The remix by David Labeij underlines the deep groove but moves the composition to the Techno side of the spectrum.

The warm and deep B-side, Alabama Mama, is a powerful track, with a melody that’s both catchy and uplifting. The subtle remixes by Specker and Rik Woldring feat Malbetrieb make this EP typically Carnivale, because of the harmonious blend of house and techno.

Will Carnivale Music’s debut EP mark a special moment in the history of mankind? Probably not, but who gives a … What we do know is that the journey has only just begun and that there’s a big chance that this label will be around for a very long time.
